Minkee
Hello. I am Minkee, a PhD student in Seoul National University. My foremost aim in 2008 is to finish PhD dissertation by autumn. The manuscript is half done, and is written in English. I believe the work and my other on-amendment papers in English would endow me to communicate better with decision-makers of international post-doc programs and job opportunities. Besides, I have been emailing and calling friends over world. We share and talk about our life and future such as Salsa, friends, marriage, and academic works. Those English contacts encourage me to develop my current dream -- working for international affairs.
Nicole
Hi~ Nice to meet u guys! I am Youn Jee-Kim, but you can just call me NIcole. As Minkee introduced, I am majored in English Education, but to be honest, I am NOT really good at English. It seems like an excuse, but what I actually learn in my field is more like linguistics. Anyway, I despearately need improving my English, and this is why I joined this group reading club.
Something more about me...
I love shopping, traveling, watching movies, drinking, chatting......... I think I am pretty vivid and active person, so I always enjoy something new and exciting. I hope this meeting can give me a great pleasure as well. :)

Osamu
Hello, my name is Osamu Tomura. Please call me Osamu. I am a graduate school student in University of Tokyo, majoring in Higher education. It concerns the university management and policy studies. I first met Minkee at Kobe University in 2005. Ever since, he has given me a lot of advices, especially, on the academic field. His help has been so useful to me. But one of my problems during the period of college student—I have been living in Tokyo except the three year—was the lack of English fluency. If I were better at English, I would have experienced more with Minkee. I wish this would be a good chance to get that over. I look forward to joining this program. I am not good at English now. Worse, I may skip this program once a month due to extra works in university. But I will do my best. I hope to see more of you.
Leekyoung
Nice to meet you! I'm Leekyoung Kim. I’m going to join this English study group. I'm a graduate student, majoring in physics education. I taught science in Busan Gwangmu girl's middle school for last four years. English helps me to express my ideas. Sharing them with international colleagues will surely enable me to improve what I do (e.g. taking international conferences of science education). This weekly study meeting seems to be interesting. I will do my best, though I am worried a bit. Let me introduce a little more about me. I amuse myself watching small-scale musicals. Sports are also my favorites; I do sports rather than watching them on TV. Would you play tennis with me?
Seongkook
Hi. I'm Seongkook, a graduate student in ICU, major in computer science. I've been in Australia for a few months with working holiday visa. it was very nice experience for me, and it made me not to be afraid speaking English. But, I am still worrying about writing. The fact that I need to write papers in English makes me down. I read about this study group while surfing the web, and I thought we might help each other. It is nice to be with you. Thank you. I'm looking forward to meeting you at the Sunday meeting.
Eunjeong
Hi, I come to join this study group lately. My name is Eunjeong Choi, science teacher in Yeonsu girls’ high school, Incheon. From March 2008 to February 2011, I am also attending an in-service teacher program in Seoul National Univ. During the period, I will work for the Master’s degree, majoring in physics education. Minkee suggested me that I would better participate in this English study group for academic writings and technical dissertations. I thought it would be interesting. Even thought I do not speak perfect English, I am expecting much improvement through this weekly meeting. Looking forward to making many new friends here. :)
